About Rosie Jo's Cafe

Nestled in the heart of Ozark, Missouri, Rosie Jo's Cafe feels like stumbling across an inviting little secret that one wants to share with everyone yet keep all to themselves. Situated conveniently at 1711 S 15th St, this charming spot invites diners with its warm glow and cheerful vibe that spills onto the street. For those on the hunt for some unpretentious, lip-smacking soul food, Rosie Jo's serves it up with generosity and a dollop of southern hospitality.

Step inside, and it feels instantly comforting, as if entering a family dining room. The decor leans toward the quaint and cozy, with a touch of that Southern charm that sets the mood for good food and lots of laughter. The menu at Rosie Jo's Cafe is like a greatest hits record of classic Southern cuisine. The fried chicken, often hailed as the piece de resistance, arrives golden and crispy, living up to its reputation with every crunchy bite.

Slide a fork into the chicken fried steak next, and it’s as if heaven itself landed on the plate. Tender, savory, and topped with a gravy that should be on everyone's bucket list, this dish is nothing short of comfort epitomized. Don’t overlook the sides; the mashed potatoes are decadently creamy, and the green beans, cooked with a hospitality touch, are flavorsome enough to convert any veggie skeptic.

Word on the street hints at the roast beef being a particular crowd favorite, drawing rave reviews that speak of its melt-in-the-mouth quality. Regulars find themselves frequently torn between savoring the catfish—perfectly fried with a light crunch—and giving in to the delightfully tangy pulled pork. Each bite offers a whisper of that authentic Southern flair and makes it clear why this little gem consistently scores high marks among locals and visitors alike.

The sweets shouldn’t be skipped. Desserts, especially the pies, deserve a significant nod. The pecan pie is rich and gooey with just the right amount of sweetness, while the apple pie, served warm with a scoop of ice cream, could make anyone’s day brighter.

It’s the kind of place where meals are long, relaxed, and often punctuated with laughter—where staff members greet you like an old friend and feel genuinely invested in making sure each visit tops the last. Rosie Jo’s Cafe is for those who believe food is best when shared, enjoyed, and celebrated.

Went there for breakfast very good atmosphere friendly staff. My only real complaint was is that there wasn’t much seasoning on the food had to salt and pepper pretty much everything. But the biscuits tasted homemade and the gravy and the pancake was amazing and huge for four bucks. We’ll definitely be back.

Rosie's is an institution in Ozark. Food is always good. Serving staff is fine but 3 stars as sometimes food delivery is slow. For just a few bucks more than the fast food joints down the street, you can enjoy a real sit-down meal here.

If you’re looking for a meal that feels like it came straight from Grandma’s kitchen, Rosie Jo’s is the place to go. Their fried chicken is legendary—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and clearly made to order. I highly recommend the fried mushrooms and the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. We also love the potato skins. And if you love chicken livers… you’ll be in awe of Rosie’s crispy taste on a southern favorite. The portions here are huge, the prices are incredibly fair, and the staff makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. Don't leave without trying a slice of their homemade pie (the coconut cream is a game-changer!) and they serve a scoop of ice cream for every costumer. It’s a local gem for a reason. Check it out!

Our server's name is Rita. The music plays gently in the background and is not over powering. There's no TV in here which is something that seems harder to find nowadays. Our food took about 20-30 minutes and arrived HOT! Except my triple stacks sandwich. The chicken tenders were HUGE!!! The salad seemed like a side salad. The chili cheese fries were soft and the chili had beans in it. But it all tasted pretty good. While the food was great, nobody really seemed happy. But they're honest and down to earth it seems. They also say it'll take over 40 minutes if you order the fried chicken. Can't tell if that includes the chicken tenders which also appear fried. Idk what that's about. The portions all seem well worth the value. Except maybe the shrimp, because Rita also doesn't think it's worth the money.

We have breakfast here every Saturday. Service is wonderful and the food is amazing. Highly recommend the omelet. Casey always takes amazing care of us. We meet our neighbors here and visit while we eat.

The best fried mushrooms and onion rings hands down! I had the 4 piece fried chicken and it’s worth the 20 min wait for it to cook. The table also got the fried fish filet sandwich, the Philly cheese steak, bowl of chili, and the patty melt. Everyone liked their meal and the prices on the food were very reasonable. Definitely the best food we had on this trip and the best value! The service was attentive and we appreciated our servers recommendations! It was about a 25 min drive from our hotel and well worth the drive! It’s in a plaza so there was plenty of parking options.
